Biography

Rashidah Namboowa is a Ugandan politician who has served as the Woman Member of Parliament for Butambala District since 2016. She is a member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), the ruling political party in Uganda.

Namboowa was born in Butambala District in 1977. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work and Social Administration from Makerere University. She also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Wales.

Prior to entering politics, Namboowa worked as a social worker and community development officer. She also served as the Executive Director of the Butambala Community Development Association.

In 2016, Namboowa was elected as the Woman Member of Parliament for Butambala District. She is a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Gender, Labour and Social Development. She is also a member of the Parliamentary Forum on Food Security and Nutrition.

Namboowa is a strong advocate for women's rights and gender equality. She is also a vocal critic of corruption and human rights abuses. She is a respected leader in her community and is known for her dedication to public service.
