Sarah is a highly respected media personality known for her
captivating radio voice. She is passionate about blending and reconciling the
traditional and modern Gender values in the family and among the new generation. Her
love and commitment to empowering Women, and teenage Girls has enhanced and
transformed the livelihood and well-being of families, individuals, and communities.
Sarah is an enthusiastic Radio Presenter who has dedicated
her programs to desisting Gender-based violence acts that affect women and
children, advocates for equal treatment, boosts women’s sense of self-worth and encourages women/mothers to actively get involved in group transforming activities amidst
family and sociocultural norms. She is ardent and resourceful about transforming
the youth and young mothers through personal enrichment programs. Empower women
especially rural women living at the shores of Lake Victoria to take up
leadership in communities, widen participation in money-earning projects ie
weaving and crafts, and embrace farming for food security among their families.
She joined Radio Two Akaboozi 89.7fm in 2001 presenting two
programs about Real life stories a family show on Diversity (misfortunes and
hardships) every Sunday and a night interactive musical show by the radio name
Saralee
She initiated a
children’s holiday camp (Home and Diaspora) to nurture respect and appreciation for culture, norms, and values among the youth, intended to bridge the
gap between modernity and tradition. Sarah is actively involved in counseling the Girl-child about early pregnancies
and HIV&AIDS, improving self-confidence, youth expression, right decision-making, overcoming dilemmas during and after college, speaking to school dropouts
to find passion and purpose aimed at changing lives for a better livelihood,
reaching out to youth with limited access to basic needs: ie sanitary pads, undergarments, scholastic materials, etc
Sarah holds a BSc. Degree in Human Resource Management from the Cyprus Institute of Marketing, a trained Radio Presenter from UMCAT School of
Journalism and Mass Communication, a qualified Counsellor, and an extensively trained
in Customer service excellence and Hospitality.
In addition to the live Radio presentation, Sarah is an Administrative
Assistant working with the Vision Group a leading daily newspaper, and has
served in different capacities since 2001. Sarah is a volunteer with FAIMA Organic and Herbal Research
as a therapist, a Farmer and proprietor of Telekamp sites for farm stay
experiences and cultural exchange programs, Kaasa crafts, and Supa Youth Mentors to help youth voice out their challenges
and she is a member of the Kisakye women’s Group in Katosi Mukono district and mother of four children.
